We've eaten there as a family a couple of times an loved it. I've travelled to China before and found that the food and atmosphere at The Tang Dynasty is very similar to that of actual restaurants over there. Good quality, friendly staff, tasty, interesting - without being over the top. And true - it is authentic!
When I think of all the good meals I could have had in Melbourne for $90 per head I could cry. What a waste of money. They describe themselves as "modern turkish" and then seem to interpret this as not Turkish at all. Serves are small. The food is average. The staff were awful - so rude! Any request for small things that I would regard as standard in a good restaurant (eg tap water) was dealt with rudeness and disdain. I can understand that restaurants may resent people who come in and order the cheapest dish and then ask for tap water. However we ordered three courses and a nice bottle of wine - shouldn't be made to feel like a criminal for asking for tap water (in fact shouldn't have to ask).
Food was fresh and tasty, service was cheerful and good, value was great and Meal portions were very big. The open fire was a nice touch too.
